Where’s the Ambling(s)?

Psalm 42: 1-2

“As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?”

Well, it’s been a bit of a dry year for my “amblings”. The past month or so has been a bit trying, but God never gives us more than we can handle. I appreciate everyone who has kept me and my family in prayer. After a few cancelled trips it looks like I’ll be getting out for a long weekend (Saturday-Monday) to the Adirondacks. I’m thirsting for solitude and total immersion in God’s creation. I’m also excited at the prospect of journalling my trip for all of you that have so patiently read my “ramblings” here at WWTS. So off I go – be back soon!

  1. “He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic”. Luke 9:3

That may be a bit too ultralight for you. L O L

    OUTSTANDING! GOOD FOR YOU! 😉

We’ll be looking forward to the “ramblings” from your journal when you return. Have a very safe and enjoyable long and peaceful weekend.

In other words, “Go take a hike!”. Who knew the apostles were the first SUL hikers 😀 !

  2. They left from there and began a journey through Galilee, but He did not wish anyone to know about it. He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be handed over to men and they will kill Him, and three days after His death He will rise”. Mark 9:30-31

    Hi George,

How was Your 3 Days immersed in God’s creation?

Mine are coming in early to mid October. I can remember being brought to tears just trying to take in the sheer beauty of God’s creation while hiking on the AT.

Lazarus a.k.a. David likened our hiking to a personal retreat. Things somehow become clearer and easier to understand in the beauty of nature.

    • Hi John! Glad to be there, glad to be back. Immersion? Considering the rain on days one and two I’d say it was more of a “submersion” :). Trip report to follow….
