  1. Very cool shirt!

Here is something I’d like to share with everyone. It is called –

    THE LETTER

    Dear Friend,

How are you? I just had to send a note to tell you how much I care about you.

I saw you yesterday as you were talking with your friends. I waited all day hoping you would want to talk with me too. I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you – and I waited. You never came. It hurt me – but I still love you because I am your friend.

I saw you sleeping last night and longed to touch your brow so I spilled moonlight upon your face. Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk. I have so many gifts for you! You awoke and rushed off to work. My tears were in the rain.

If you would only listen to me! I love you! I try to tell you in blue skies and in the quiet green grass. I whisper it in leaves on the trees and breathe it in the colors of flowers, shout it to you in mountain streams, give the birds love songs to sing. I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air with nature scents. My love for you is deeper than the ocean, and bigger than the biggest need in your heart!

Ask me! Talk with me! Please don’t forget me. I have so much to share with you!

I won’t hassle you any further. It is YOUR decision. I have chosen you and I will wait –

    I love you.

    Your friend,

    JESUS

    • George,

      Glad you enjoyed “The Letter”.

I hope your vacation was everything that you hoped it would be.

I’m still exploring Walking With The Son. I showed it to my wife and she was excited to see my interest in it.

Those pictures of those kids on that hiking / camping trip are wonderful.

I especially like the one of the young man with his eyes crossed while sipping from his hydration reservoir and Noah’s little friend. 😉

Work hard, play hard and pray hard!

      • John,

Time off from work with the family is always good 🙂
Glad you’re enjoying browsing here. It’s been a slow start, but my goal is to post a least once every week – no less than every two weeks. Hopefully we’ll have more Amblings (trips) to report on in the future, and God willing the Ramblings will improve as well.
Your wife continues to show immpeccable taste, in my biased opinion 🙂
The excitement and committment those kids have shown on each and every trip has been inspiring to me. Joshua (sipping picture) and Noah are great examples of why I love taking these trips.

  2. Just this past Sunday I was reminded of just how monumental what was done for us over 2000 years ago really is.

One of the things that I do after church on Sunday is to move the trash containers out to the curb for pickup. One of the ladies in our congregation volunteers her time keeping up the rosebushes in the church garden.

This past Sunday one of the cans was full to overflowing with cuttings pruned from the rosebushes. Naturally they are chock full of small thorns. As I tried to wheel the can with the cuttings in it out to the curb the thorns were digging into the back of my hand as I grasped the handle of the wheeled can. I thought that I might just tough it out until the can was at the curb but I failed. I just wasn’t up to the task. I had to find another way.

Aren’t we so lucky and so loved that Jesus didn’t give up and give in and go another way. That crown of thorns that he wore for us was nothing like those tiny thorns that I couldn’t handle. I’ve used nails that are smaller than the thorns in that crown of thorns that He wore for us.

For this is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

Thank you Jesus true God and true Man!
